DIY done!

My stencil project is done!!!

I am so pleased I must mention courtneyoutloud.com his blog gave me this awesome idea, He gave such expert advice on this from his wall that was done. I always wanted an accent wall but I didn't just want a different color like normal designers would use. I was even thinking of using wallpaper, but after pricing that changed real quick $80.00 per roll not me! my wall would need (2) rolls.... plus the thought of having wallpaper glued to my wall, what if I get tired of it etc... So I opted for a stencil if I want to change the color its just a quick paint over, but I love it - so its a keeper!  this entire project cost me $75.00 for stencil, paint, adhesive, rollers, frog tape. Quick tip I would advise using a smooth foam paint roller, this makes the stencil glide on nice and smooth, no blotches.

I went with Martha Stewart paint - vintage antique gold with a nice metallic sheen.
The Easy Tack adhesive was for the stencil, once you spray this on the back it cuts the time of always having to use the blue tap. This adhesive doesn't stick to the wall or the stencil pulls right off, but you can keep using and using, maybe have to spray the easy tack one or two more times, in a well ventilated area!!

Start with a nice clean wall. I had to work around my chandelier because I didn't want to move it. The stencil comes with a guide so its basically a goof proof project, all you have to worry about is keeping the design straight. I would suggest having some sort of leveler available.

Once you have the first row done, just keep moving left to right why? because that allows one side to dry why you are working on the other side. See the beautiful antique sheen in this paint. Martha Stewart has several colors in Home Depot. I went with this vintage antique gold because of my bathroom paint color and a silver just would not have looked good.

So we started on Sunday right after church and did the remaining corners and peak of ceiling the next day. We had to figure out the corners and once we did it turned out amazing. the corners and sides can be trick but you can bend the stencil.
So this is the final results, I love the stencil with my claw foot tub and chandelier what do you think?

Here is a side by side. Once we got use to the Easy tack adhesive that blue painters tape said
bye bye!!

FYI you will need green frog tape for the sides, only because you don't want to pull any paint of the rest of your walls. Green frog tape works great!

Happy Stenciling!!!
XOXOXO

Furniture Delivery!!

So my furniture came yesterday yay!! I changed my furniture because my home is a small craftsman style home and the furniture that I had prior was from my apartment when I was single, but since I am married now five years, this year its time for new beginnings. I guess with that set being from when I was single, it might have some stuff on it that I am bringing into my new marriage which we don't want. So now that we are starting with new furniture who knows what God will bless us with perhaps a baby!!! I just truly believe that when you are starting new beginnings you must start with everything. My life for the last 2 years have been just that new beginnings.

Although back to the furniture; my husband and I decided that we would spend our money wisely and we wanted good quality furniture.  After re-arranging our room and with the choice of furniture and Thank God for a huge closet, we cut the furniture in the room to one large dresser,  two nightstands and platform bed that has six large deep drawers underneath. Thus letting us get rid of the tall Chester dresser.....Yesss that freed up space for a cute little reading corner with my bose.com media player with iPod dock. The room is still a work in progress but we couldn't be happier.

so cute, love the green chair if you keep reading you will see why.

these lamps are so gorgeous kirklands.com

My old set I would store my scarves (I love scarves) in plastic totes that slide on wheel directly under the bed. I can still do that and fits perfect....although no more bed skirts, really didn't like them anyway collect to much dust. The bed has 3 of these deep drawers on each side.
My husband even got a chance to get (2)....Lol

So this is were the green chair came from, I wanted a accent color without painting a wall so I pulled the color from this picture threw in a few green pillows and I love it.

Have a great day!!!
XOXOXO

Speaking of new beginnings also loving my new hair cut for 2014
God has been so good to me and my family I am so grateful for all the many blessings has given us, looking forward to more. Staying in His will and His presence.

Weekend fun...

Lazy Sunday!!

Preparing for the big snow that's heading our way...ugh!!! But I am not going to complain.

Had a great weekend very busy, went furniture shopping on Saturday afternoon. So the sales guy named Randy that greeted me & my husband at raymourandflanigan.com had no idea what he was in store for. Long story short 2 1/2 hours later I walked out with new bedroom set and mattress (king size). It was so needed my husband and I have been using my bedroom furniture from my single days 6 years ago. My husband is 6' 4' and I always wanted a bed with footboard, but he don't fit the bed of that choice so scrap that dream..... Prayed for tall husband, prayers answered Thank you Jesus just a little compromise. So we got a nice set that fits my craftsman style home, keeping with the style of the home it will look great. In the end Randy the salesman made a commission, we got new bedroom set great price and Randy the salesman had to take a long break after dealing with me!

Smooches!

Love my Bathroom!

Hello Everyone,

So I am re-doing my bathroom colors, I used to have everything in beige and green and brown. I wanted to have a spa look, so I changed the colors to a nice light teal, white and brown. Still keeping the brown in the bathroom because the tiles are brown and the wall colors are a light tan. I was shopping around for a stand to put my soap displays on and scored a chrome and glass stand from JossandMain.com this website has some of the most gorgeous items for your home. The teal towels I scored at tjmaxx.com only $2.99. I also ordered a stencil because I am going to stencil the wall behind my tub....I cant wait ordered the stencil last Saturday on royaldesignstudiostencil.com the stencil is called elegnecia...Ooohh! I will show you the finish wall soon as the stencil arrive today!!

This is the wall that I will be stenciling this weekend during the snowstorm we are suppose to be having...hopefully it won't snow. The chandelier came from  overstock.com for $97.00 its absolutely stunning!! will give details on how me and my husband will achieve the look with stencil fingers crossed....
my teal towels and teal bath salts and apothecary jars give the any room elegance.
