Thanksgiving!!

Some may know that this is my favorite time of the year!! I just love the colors of fall and the beauty of winter. This time of the year families gather to eat, love on one another, and just celebrate Jesus. I thank God for my family and friends and I pray that they have the best Thanksgiving ever. So I am preparing for this week, every Thanksgiving for the past 6 years my husband and I serve at a youth center for the less fortunate and provide hot meal, clothes, prayer and the Love of Jesus Christ. I know we all are cleaning, cooking, shopping, and getting everything ready for the Holidays. Well this year my husband and I are actually putting up a Christmas tree. We have not adorned our home with a Christmas tree in seven years, why? because of religion...listening to others interpretation of the Bible instead of reading it for ourselves. Well I am happy to say Jesus loves me and I don't think He would not let me Heaven just cause I put a Christmas tree up. The word of God says those that don't know me will not make it in....

In other news everyone knows that I have removed acrylic, tips and UV gel off my nails and went natural. My nails are so much stronger and I love the look of them (excuse the ashy hands). I am by know means knocking any one who use those products let get that straight. Those products were just not for me, it was to costly and a $7.00 manicure fits my budget just well. I was paying $85.00 every two wks. for gel fill-ins and pedicure...Hunty that was cut real quick saved my self $170.00 a month, $2040.00 yearly its amazing when you do the math on the price of beauty how it adds up.

That $2040.00 is going towards my new 2015 car because my lease is up soon!!

My boss asked me to decorate for an important conference they were having for our marketing department. So I took the conference room and turned it into a stand up eating area for appetizers to be served.  I love parties and making simple places look nice.

This was the bar area just wine....

Cheese and cracker area...I love what I do!
My job consist of playing many roles, purchasing manger, interior decorator, minister and trust me I love every bit of it.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving and give thanks to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: For his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 107:1

relaxing weekend

This was such a relaxing weekend, just spending time with me and my husband. We have not done that in a long time and it was so needed. We laughed at each others jokes, took a long ride and then he had a toothache Sunday but being home with him was so great.  What happen over your weekend? Sometimes you have to make time for just yourself, its so worth it. We are preparing for the Holidays and decorating our home is going to be so much fun. We have not put up a Christmas tree in about 8 years. Thank God we are not sitting under silly doctrine anymore and know God and his word for ourselves. We are so blessed to be were we are now and I give all Praises and Glory to God.

(CUTE GIRL DIY TIP)

So my CEO and boss asked me to provide privacy for the patients on one of the units and this quick DIY project came to mind. First they wanted to use curtains and I said no, so I went with what I have on my bathroom window for privacy, it's so simple and it creates the perfect amount of privacy, while adding a beautiful look to any window. Yes this is a nursing home dining room!! thanks to one of the great carpenters for hanging it for me (union shop, I am management they would have a fit) but he did an outstanding job, now all the other nursing units are requesting it. The window film came from Home depot.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a blessed night!

Apple Pie!!!

Wow...me blogging 2X's in one day!! but I said that I was going to blog about my apple pie that I made. I love baking first and far most! cakes, pies, cookies I love it. There is something about baking and having someone enjoy it and see the smile on there faces and they are really enjoying it!

So when we went apple picking, you purchase the bag for $1.00 and pick your heart away, but be careful carrying them apples back to the beginning is a horror!! Yass!! someone have to carry that heavy bag for you. Why? because you get so excited and pick so many and they are so good.

My Mom and my sister friends!!

My great photo shoot!!

Recipe: I used a pie crust from the store ain't no body got time for that making crust!
 pie filing you will need:
6 cups thinly sliced apples ( I used macintosh, green all types)
3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 Tbsp. lemon juice (optional)

Combine all the ingredients and cook on stove for 10 minutes, just until the apples and sugars start to caramelize, your house will smell so good. Ok then pour the mixture in the pie crust and bake in oven 400F for 45-50 minutes, then the kicker is I will remove right before its time to take the pie out ant brush the top crust with fresh honey!!! OMG this adds such a flavor.

and there you have it the finish product....get you some butter pecan ice cream or vanilla bean, some cool whip and dive in...

Applewood Orchards are beautiful and the view is breathtaking.

Me and my mom in the Orchards..

Have a great day lovelies

Harvest Time!!

Hello all!! I am back and trying to keep blogging regularly, but we see that's not happening? So it's harvest time and Fall Season, which by the way is my favorite season of them all, besides Christmas and Spring. I love the crisp air that comes with the season, the colors that blossom from the trees what a splendor to see. My husband, mother, best friends Carol and Lisa went apple picking up at Applewood Orchards in Sugerloaf/Warwick NY about one hour and forty five minutes from me. Well my mom it was her first time picking apples since she was a child. We had such a great time!! and the day was beautiful the orchards were half empty because it was so many people picking apples. Families of every nationality it was so nice. We do it every year but bringing along some friends and family just makes if more pleasant.

loving life

Hello, I have not blogged in a while had some minor surgery and went on vacation after that. I must say God has been so good to me. This surgery was so easy and I healed so fast I was amazed...well I should not have been amazed but thankful at what God is doing in my life and the speedy recovery. Enough of that but Hubby and I went on a mini get away to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! Yess...our 5th I have been married to this wonderful man for five beautiful years, when our vows say "In sickness and in health" my husband has proved himself in that area. My husband has been right by my side during everything never once complaining or getting angry, but praying and believing God. I am so thankful to have a man of God.

So we went to Maine and stayed at a B&B again and did some traveling, going up on mountains eating and more eating.

First I got this baby for my 5th wedding anniversary gift my MacBook Air!! My job was such a blessing I was able to work from home during my healing process and still be paid as if I was there everyday, God said I will give you favor with man.

Then 4 weeks after the surgery hubby and I threw an awesome end of the summer dinner party with great friends, some I have not seen in 3 years and it was so much fun..love them all and we are doing well despite the naysayers, say what you want about all of us are blessed from God.

My friend Lisa taking photos because just 3 weeks after surgery I was in Manhattan spending the day with Lisa (she don't know I took this shot of her doing what she love) at the Met then birthday lunch for her!!
Then my dinner party I had my brother cook for us and the food was dynamite, Beef Wellington, 7up cake etc....so yummy he will be graduating in a few months as Executive Chef now for those that posted things about him getting in trouble take that!

Just feeling great about the things that God is doing and so happy! I can't waste my time on meaningless folk and unhappy people, the word says that mark those that cause division and trust you me we have.

I am just going to sit back, pray and leave it to God!
Have a blessed day Lovelies..
